| In June, we will see the start of competitions. Competition is part of athletics and we highly recommend that athletes participate at least at county level. This means that competition is only for athletes from Kilkenny. This year, due to Covid, there is a sub-regional division with Kilkenny, Carlow, Wicklow, and Wexford. Leinster Competition (Provincial) is for all counties in Leinster. And Nationals are for all counties in the 4 provinces. County events are open for all athletes. Some Leinster and National competitions may require qualification to compete.In Summer, there is Track and Field (T&F) In Autumn/Winter, Cross Country (XC) In Jan/Feb, IndoorsThe locations vary each year and we usually let you know well in advance where they will be.In June, we have County T&F for juveniles U8 to U18. There is also Junior, Senior and Master events. Events may include running, jumping and throwing. We will send you information over the next month about the events available for each age so keep checking SPOND.Fixture dates have been provisionally decided at County and Leinster Level.
