Sam, Tomás and Conor C. followed closely to bring the team home in 1st place. And we also won 3rd team with Odhrán, Evan, Darragh,  Conor M. Evan and Darragh again U9 runners competing U10 today. 2nd Club Team

Sarah won gold, in this large field of 30 girls, with determination. From the start she pulled away from the pack and led the field gradually increasing the distance over the course. Rachel, Maria and new club runner Clodagh ran well to win 2nd team.

U14 Boys 2500m 2nd Billy Coogan, 7th Luke Phelan, 11th Matthew McAviney 13th Iueri Prendergast 14th Mikey Keating

3rd Club Team

Billy was very strong in this race and was in the top of the group from the outset. Williams from Senans was always going to be the one to contend with as they have had many a cross-country race together. Boyle from KCH was also in contention. By the end of the 2500m course the top three were well spaced and no sprint finished was required but the boys put their heart into it anyway. Silver for Gowran.

U16 Girls 3500m 1st Hannah Kehoe

Hannah took off from the start right to the front. The Thomastown girls Kirwan, O’Keeffe and Dillon along with Godden of KCH have see many a race together but there was no question of who was most deserving of gold today.

U16 Boys 3500m 8th Cillian Dunne, 9th Matthew Holland, 10th David Byrne, 12 Diego Rodiguez

2nd Club Team

Cillian, Matthew, David and new club runner Diego ran the 3500m well and did the club proud with their silver club team medals.

O40s Ladies 3000m 9th Siobhan O’Dwyer

Home territory for St. Joseph’s, so they made up half of the competitors in the race. Maria Griffith led from the start and won with ease. Siobhan ran a steady race and finished strong in 9th position. St. Josephs won 1st and 3rd team.  First county race for new club Kings River AC ladies and their team came in 2nd. Disappointingly no team for Gowran.

O40s Men 6000m 2nd Derek Kehoe

A two man race at the front with Derek and Peter Barry (SJ). The were neck and neck for most of the 6000m. Barry made a few moves to pass but Derek responded well and held him off until Barry made one final increase in speed from 400m to go and took a 50m lead from Derek. Great run from our only club runner.
